Is Nuclear Science in Your Future?!

Maybe you like physics or chemistry and you’ve already thought how cool it would be to study those topics as part of a nuclear science degree program in college. You might not have considered how some of your other interests might be tied to a future degree or career in nuclear science, though—disciplines such as computer science, environmental science, mathematics, space exploration, architecture, law, politics, international relations, business, transportation technology, and medicine. Even something totally unexpected, like computer gaming, has an application in the nuclear field, as more and more computer training programs use gaming technologies and virtual reality to teach about safety and emergency procedures.

There are other unexpected opportunities to learn about nuclear science, as well. For instance, click here to learn about the Boy Scout Merit Badge for Nuclear Science,

With increasing emphasis on decreasing reliance on carbon-based energy resources, the future is full of opportunity for students interested in pursuing studies leading to a degree and career in the nuclear field.
