New Nuclear Plant Construction, Operation & Deferral
Summary: TVA proceeding towards completion of Watts Bar Unit 2 and Bellefonte Units 1 and 2.
New Nuclear Plants under Construction: TVA resumed construction-related activities at two mothballed sites:
- Watts Bar 2, near Spring City, TN, resumed at a total cost of $2.5 billion with an estimated completion date of 2013.
- Construction permits have been reinstated for Bellefonte Units 1 and 2 near Scottsboro, AL; no work underway.
New Nuclear Plant Begin Operation: None.
