- NRC accepted and docketed Southern Nuclear's COL application for two AP1000 reactors at the Vogtle site on June 9, 2008.
- DTE Energy has selected the GE-Hitachi ESBWR design for Fermi Unit 3.
- With acceptance of the Safety Analysis Report on June 5, 2008, UniStar's full COL application for Calvert Cliffs has been docketed by the NRC.
- On May 30, NRC announced it will hold environmental scoping meetings on June 19 for the Grand Gulf COL.
- On May 27, NRC announced it will hold environmental scoping meetings on June 10 for the Shearon Harris COL.
- South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G) and Santee Cooper signed an EPC contract with Westinghouse on May 27 for the design and construction of two AP1000 units at V.C. Summer in South Carolina.
- Curtiss-Wright announced on May 6 that they have received purchase orders for 24 reactor coolant pumps (RCPs) for six US AP1000 units (4 pumps per reactor).
- Progress Energy signed a letter of intent with Westinghouse and the Shaw Group on April 7th to purchase long lead components for two AP1000s.
