Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future

The Secretary of Energy has established a working group within the Energy Department to conduct an in depth  review of the final recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future ("Commission"). The purpose for this internal process is to consider the Commission's recommendations at a more detailed level. In some instances, such as the call for "a new, single-purpose organization," additional analyses are needed to supplement those performed by the Commission. The internal Energy Department review process will include the full range of public comments, commissioned papers, and policy perspectives received by the Commission.  The review is expected to be completed by the end of July 2012. The specifics of a new national strategy that accounts for the Commission's recommendations will then be addressed in partnership with Congress. Please send any questions you may have relative to this process to Mary Woollen at BRCinfo@hq.doe.gov.
