Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy in London to Highlight President Bush’s Global Nuclear Energy Partnership

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, September 6, 2007, U.S. Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy Dennis R. Spurgeon will deliver remarks at the 32nd Annual World Nuclear Association Symposium in Westminster, London. Assistant Secretary Spurgeon is expected to discuss President Bush’s Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) and the importance of increasing nuclear power worldwide.

GNEP is a Presidential initiative introduced in 2006, that seeks to provide abundant energy without generating greenhouse gases and recycle used nuclear fuel to minimize waste and reduce proliferation. For more information visit: www.gnep.energy.gov.
