Weapon Against Cancer on Hold

WASHINGTON, DC - Release of the final Request for Proposals to obtain U-233 from legacy material at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory is on hold, pending submission of a detailed project plan to Congress. This plan is requested in the Conference Report on the FY 2002 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act. The Conference Report has been passed by Congress and is awaiting presidential approval.
