This document provides a roadmap for the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) research, development, and demonstration activities that will ensure nuclear energy remains viable energy option for the United States.
This is the report on the Nuclear Energy Enabling Technologies (NEET) Workshop, which the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy held in Rockville, Md., on July 29, 2010. The NEET Program is a new activity proposed in the Department’s FY 2011 Budget Request. The primary purposes in convening the NEET workshop were to obtain stakeholder input on the crosscutting technology R&D needs to support NE’s R&D Roadmap objectives; and to inform a possible solicitation for transformative, “out-of-the-box” solutions across the full range of nuclear energy technology issues.
This Performance Plan captures the Office of Nuclear Energy's (NE) performance in critical program areas for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 and how NE plans to assess them in FY 2010. In addition, it provides our stakeholders with an overview of NE's programs, funding profile, and the Office's designated role within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Strategic Plan.
